Our Story — Flylily
On August 6, 2025, Flylily began with a simple realization: light at home should do more than illuminate—it should comfort.
We’re an ordinary family from Massachusetts. After university, like many young dreamers, we followed opportunity to Silicon Valley, California. I work as a Senior Digital Electrical Engineer at Philips, and my wife works in finance. Our days move fast—meetings, deadlines, Excel sheets, product documents, late nights.
At home, life is just as full. Three children. Elderly parents living with us. Schedules that never seem to slow down.
We often found ourselves rushing through dinner, hurrying bedtime, and missing the quiet moments that truly matter—helping with homework, talking with our parents, sitting together without distraction. One night, as we tucked our child in under a soft, warm light, something clicked:
Lighting isn’t just functional. It shapes how a home feels.
Around that time, our friend David—a designer, photographer, and filmmaker—came to visit. We spoke about work stress, family life, and how little emotional comfort our home environment provided. Half-jokingly, I said:
“If we can’t afford a massage chair, maybe we can make a lamp that comforts us emotionally.”
David smiled. “Why not? I’ll help you design it.”
That was the beginning of our journey.
Night after night, weekend after weekend, we worked together to create a lamp that wasn’t just a source of light, but an emotional companion for busy families like ours.
Our first creation was a UFO-shaped galaxy projector. Inspired by real astronomical imagery, it transforms ordinary rooms into immersive cosmic scenes—dynamic stars, gentle motion, and a calming atmosphere that helps children fall asleep, gives parents a moment to breathe, and fills the home with warmth and wonder.
It turned out to be more than a product.
It became part of our evenings. Part of our family rhythm. A quiet presence after long days.
And that’s how Flylily was born.
We don’t just create lights.
We create moments of peace in busy lives.
Welcome to our story.
We hope Flylily brings light, warmth, and a little wonder into your home, too.
